AL East

The Boston Red Sox are the favorites to win the 2011 AL East crown, the toughest division in baseball. The Boston/New York fued has been going on since i could remember and i been watching for atleast 15 years. Let's take a look at the five teams that make up the strong AL East.
The Red Sox will have a good rotation this year and if Papelbon is healthy Daniel Bard could be used as his set up man or just a key out of the pen. With a lineup like Boston has put together pitching will not be what wins them games. Boston should take the AL East and maybe even the World Series.
The New York Yankees, just like every year will not have trouble scoring any runs. The question for the Yankees is pitching, but should be enough to take the AL Wild Card spot.
The Rays will relay on their youth because they can't compete money wise with the power house teams in not only the AL East but also in the MLB. Losing all the talent they did, 2011 will be more of a ride down the bottom than the top for Tampa.
The Jays lost Buck and Wells which means small ball in 2011. Rookie Arencibia is the replacement for Buck but he will not replace Buck's power. Nobody in 2010 had more home runs than Toronto's Bautista. Jose had hit 59 round trippers his entire career before the 2010 campeign. Expecting last years numbers from Bautista could be a little far fetched. Whats more far fetched is seeing the Jays compete in the AL East. Toronto finished 2010 8 games over .500 last year and that was only good enough for fourth place. Expect the same in 2011.
Baltimore should trade away all the vets they can and just start young. The O's will be out of the race by the all star break.
Standings
Red Sox 101-61
Yankees 91-71 10 games back
Rays 86-76 15 games back
Jays 83-79 18 games back
Orioles 66-95 34.5 games back
