AL Pennant

Red Sox, Red Sox, Red Sox. That is all you have heard about all offseason. Do they have a good enough team to win it all in 2011? Maybe, but i have 3 teams in the AL that will try and prove experts wrong.
New York Yankees, the best team in baseball in 2010. New York has the same lineupp as 2010 with one key addition. Russell Martin. That will now make the 5 time all star Jorge Posada the DH. With the Yankees getting older the bench will be the key. 10 time NL Gold Glover Andruw Jones will be giving the bench some depth. Don't be surprised to see Ronnie Belliard come in to games late as a baserunner. He may be 35 but he can still steal bases and score from first when needed.
A team that is being talked about lately, not for good reasons, Detriot Tigers. Led by 2006 AL manger of the year Jim Leyland, Detriot looks to return to the playoffs. Magglio Ordonez resigned in the offseason with the Tigers to keep power in the lineup. His option was declined and it looked like Maggie O was going to be playing on his third different team. It won't just be the lineup that takes Detriot to the World Series. The Tigers just as powerful bullpen will help with that cause. Joaquin Benoit signes with the Tigers after a very strong 2010. Having Benoit as a set up man to Joel Zumaya will take Detriot a long way.
2001. That was the last time my surprise pick made the playoffs. 2011 maybe what some people call a rebuilding year for the Seattle Mariners. New manager Eric Wedge will look to take Seattle to the postseason. Wedge has alot of good young talent to work with. Ace of the Staff Felix Hernandez is a prime example. Miguel Olivo will be calling games behind the plate for King Felix. Olivo has pop in his bat and is a better home hitter. Lets see how these two do together, if healthy should lead to a playoff apperance.
