Chicago Cubs

Spring Training is underway and Carlos Zambrano looked like an ace in his first apperance. The Diamondbacks have a good lineup but he retired 6 hitters. Zambrano is tyring to get his skills back that made him a consistant 15 game winner. He finally realized that the harder you work the better you will get. Zambrano has to win 16-20 games for his team of the Cubs to be a contender to the World Series.
The Cubs do not have a timetable set for the return of Angel Guzman. He threw 30 pitches on flat ground about a week ago. Manger, front office, and fans are all frustrated with his latest injury. Guzman first hurt his knee coming into camp and now it's his shoulder. Guzman's injury will just open the door for another guy.
Lineup
1. LF Alfonso Soriano Led AL in stolen bases in 2002
2. SS Ryan Theriot 153 career RBIs
3. 1B Derrek Lee Led NL in doubles in 2005
4. 3B Aramis Ramirez 2008 Hank Aaron Award
5. CF Marlon Byrd 60 career home runs
6. RF Kosuke Fukudome 2006 Central League MVP
7. 2B Mike Fontenot .266 career batting average
8. C Koyie Hill 49 career RBIs
Rotation
1. Ryan Dempster 2x all star 2000 and 2008
2. Carlos Zambrano No hitter in 2008
3. Ted Lilly 2x all star 2004 and 2009
4. Randy Wells 12-10 career record
5. Tom Gorzelanny 292 career strikeouts
Prediction: The outfeild is strong offensively. The infeild is solid offensively and defensively. Soto hit a wall last year, Hill is a good backup but think after Soto's slump Hill is an ok starter. I don't see Silva being a starter after Lilly returns in Mayish. Marmol will close but is not that great. The outfeild is deep with Hoffpauir and Nady as backups. Need at least another all star starter to make a run at being World Series champs. Will be a contender this year. 1 game out of the NL Central. 85-77 record.
