Dear readers,
If you read my last post, an error was made when I reported that the Phillies won the first game of the NLDS against the Dodgers. I made the correction to NLCS as it should be stated.
After playing game 2 of the NLCS, the Phillies win with the final score being 8-5 over the Dodgers. The Phils have gone out West this morning for game 3 which will be played tomorrow in California. Being two up over the Dodgers certainly puts the Phillies in a good position when they play the Dodgers.
Here's a brief recap of game 2:
The Dodgers take an early lead 1-0, but the Phillies quickly tie up and get a lead, still early in the game. Brett Myers was pitching for the Phillies, but he ended up with 3 hits in the game and 3 RBIs. Talk about a fluke. Anyway, the Phillies had two strong innings where they scored 4 runs in each, giving them 8. The Dodgers outfielder, Manny R. hit a 3 run homerun to give the Dodgers 5. I believe all this happened by the end of the fourth inning. Things were held there and it was more of a pitchers dual type thing for the remainder of the game. Hits were made, fantastic plays were made, but no more runs were scored. Shane Victorino had an outstanding catch at the wall to save more runs from scoring in the top of the 8th inning.
What happens now:
The Phillies and Dodgers are to play 3 games if needed; we know that at least 2 will be played for sure. These games will be played at the Dodgers turf in the city of angels. We also know that if the Dodgers should get a 3 game sweep there, then things will be coming back to Philly for at least one more game.
My prediction:
I've been pretty close with my gut feelings about the Phillies all year, but I also don't want to get too confident. Hey, read my posts from way back. I said things were going to happen before they happened and that's a fact. I think the Phils will win at least 1 out of the three in the West. I strongly believe that. I don't see a sweep here, not for the Phillies, but also not a three game one for the Dodgers out their way. I do see a game six in the city of Brotherly love, and that's when the Phils are going to take it. All the way.
