It Is The Time

they sat in high thrones
far above the land
He spoke, next she
the word was whole command

it is the time
he said
it is the time
said she

release them
and so they fell
one by one
all colors scattered about
fallen from the tree

thin wisps of crimson
small chips of gold
crisps of burnt sienna
some still green, yet dry

sail and glide
see how they lie
it is the time, it is the time
she watched as his voice broke
uttering softly those sounds
she moved in turn
to usher the new season
