damp and cool
this Spring night goes
yet still and calm
no wind that blows
patience
must follow
He stood in the doorway
see them off
those visitors
almost strangers
in a moment
they will be
no more
than a memory
lit pools of water
lie on streets
reflect the lights
from windows and houses
make a glow just to show
but not a sound
to make or break
the stillness, the calmness
of the cool Spring night
