Philllies sweep the Braves at Turner
June 9th 2008 01:55
The Phillies win 6-3 against the Atlanta Braves this afternoon, making it a 1-2-3 series sweep.
Things were sweltering at Turner Stadium in the high heat, and the Phillies did what they have been doing so well; driving runs in late in the game. Heat or no heat, the Phils remain hot!
Things were tied at 3 runs, when in the 9th, the bats for the Phils started making good contact with the ball that led to 3 more runs. Brad Lidge, the spectacular closer for the Phils did what he does so well, and that was pitching a 1-2-3 inning to end the game.
It was Ryan Howard that really came alive today, and was hitting doubles that gave him the majority of the RBI's. Shane Victorino was shining in this whole series. Everyone on this team deserves some credit for getting them to where they are now. And that is 39 wins.
Keep chipping away and bringing in those runs Phillies. May you go, go, go in Florida when you play the Marlins on Tuesday and get plenty of r&r on the day off tomorrow.
