San Francisco Giants
March 18th 2010 17:16
When you think San Francisco Giants you think Tim Lincecum. You may also think Matt Cain. Or if your a true fan you can think Pablo Sandoval. What i am getting at is you thank about that outstanding pitching staff. Probly the best pitching staff in the NL.
Lineup
1. CF Aaron Rowand- 2007 All Star
2. SS Edgar Renteria- 5x All Star
3. 3B Pablo Sandoval- 239 career hits
4. 1B Aubrey Huff- Edgar Martinez Award Winner
5. LF Mark DeRosa- 430 career RBIs
6. C Bengie Molina- 2x Willie Mac Award WInner
7. RF Nate Schierholtz- .316 career OBP
8. 2B Juan Uribe- 2005 World Series Champion
The lineup has some talent but not alot. If they were on any other team most of them would be riding the pine. Rowand is in there for his defense. Renteria can still produce some power if healthy. Sandoval is a guy who would start anywhere he goes. The rest of the lineup is just a steady glove. The lineup has sucked for the last couple of years but could be just a tad better in 2010.
Rotation
1. Tim Lincecum- 2x NL Cy Young Award Winner
2. Matt Cain- 2009 All Star
3. Jonathan Sanchez- Pitched a no hitter in 2009
4. Barry Zito- 3x All Star
5. Todd Wellemeyer- 1.50 career WHIP
Lincecum is a god pitching in San Fran. Cain is youthful and ready to explode. Sanchez is duriable and has the ability to throw another no hitter. Zito is the veteren but is very effective every time out. Wellemeyer just signed a minor leauge deal to be the number 5. The Giants rotation will be the envy of baseball in 2010.
Prediction: Not everything gets better with age. The Giants will try and ride their staff into Oct. Unless the starters can pitch all 9 innings every game there is no way that there will be games in San Francisco after Sept. The bullpen is lacking high strike out guys. I will say 27 games out of the West in dead last. 70-92 record.
