Injuries to Nelson Cruz and Ian Kinsler didn't help the Texas Rangers this year. Now that they are back two more key peices are injured. Cliff Lee and Josh Hamilton. They helped Texas get to 7 games up in the AL West. Will they struggle with them two out for a while or will they win the 19 games they need to and clinch the West?
Cliff Lee is probly one of the most overrated pitchers in baseball. Don't get me wrong he is a good player but he will never have the year he had last year again. Injuries have been a major part of his carrer and now is out with a back injury. Lee will not return to the rotation until at least the weekend. With the Rangers basiclly in the playoffs you should keep him out the rest of the month so he is ready to go and can help in October. He is a candiate to start any of the three games against the Yankees.
Josh Hamilton is having the year of his life. Up to this point in the 2010 season nobody is having a better year than Mr. Hamilton. Ribs are what is keeping Josh on the bench. On Monday Hamilton said he felt better but the bruised ribs are keeping him out of activies still. Josh suffered the injury when hi hit the wall at Target Feild. Hamilton was on the DL last year for the same problem. Hamilton is unsure when he will return. It's all about how quickly he can bounce back from this right now. Texas has to worry about making the playoffs. Lets hope that he is only out for the week.
In my opinion, and remember i am only a fan by no means an expert, i think Texas will struggle. Cliff Lee is a great pitcher and can turn a team or his slump around at any moment. Josh Hamilton can put runs on the board with one swing. It is going to be tough for Oakland to catch Texas but with them two stars out it could happen. Watch for Texas to make the playoffs but struggle to get there as long as Lee and Hamilton is out.
