Toronto Blue Jays

No one will take over for Roy Halladay in Toronto. The reason is because he is the best starter in baseball over the past decade. The jays do not have a starter who has thrown over 200 innings in a season after letting Halladay go to Philly. Subtract his 2009 ERA from Toronto and you have a lousy 5.28 team ERA in 2009.
Lineup
1. RF Jose Bautista- 211 RBIs
2. 2B Aaron Hill- 2009 All Star
3. DH Adam Lind- 2009 Silver Slugger
4. CF Vernon Wells- 2x All Star
5. 1B Lyle Overbay- 457 RBIs
6. 3B Edwin Encarnacion- NL payer of the week 2006
7. C John Buck- .235 average
8. LF Travis Snider- 42 RBIs
9. SS Alex Gonzalez- 2003 World Series Champion
Wells emerged as one of the games top stars in 2006, but can he stay healthy? He has not developed into staying healthy. Last year was a low point in Wells's career.
Rotation
1. Ricky Romero- 141 strikeouts
2. Shaun Marcum- 3.95 ERA
3. Brandon Morrow- 3.96 ERA
4. Brian Tallet- 274 strikeouts
5. Scott Richmond- AL rookie of the month 2009
New General Manager Alex Anthopoulos impressed everyone by enlarging the scouting department for the Jays. But that won't see any results for at least 5 years. It will also take at least a year or so for the top prospects Wallace and Drabek to be in the majors. So there is not much to like right now but will be in the future.
Prediction: Toronto lacks to much to be any kind of compition in 2010. It will be a huge surprise if they finish anywhere but dead last in the AL East. The first place to start to get better would be starting pitching. 34 games out of the AL East lead. 68-94 record.
